This is a Non-Vented fuel tank for 1965 (RD from (B)56743) to 1969 MGB (RD to (c)187210). *** Note Please check to insure your fuel tank bolts in and is NOT held in with straps *** The tank is 14 gallons and comes with sending unit lock ring. Tanks are made with corrosion resistant O.E.M. approved Ni Terne steel and are tested for leaks after assembly. Cross Ref.# compares to 456-777
Some notes on the construction of these fuel tanks. The annealed cold-rolled steel sheet is first processed to apply a thin flash coating of electrode-posited nickel, and then it's given a hot-dip lead-tin alloy coating. The nickel base coat gives Ni-Terne steel an extra measure of corrosion resistance compared to traditional galvanizing. It should also be pointed out that the Ni-Terne coating protects both interior and exterior surfaces of the fuel tank from surface corrosion so your tank will be protected from all sides.
