This is a New Production Brake Master Cylinder for the Jaguar XK120 with the Dual Braking System. No more trying to get your old worn out master rebuild or sleeved. This style of dual line braking was fitted about April of 1952 to the Jaguar XK120 from OTS 660980 672049; FHC 669003 679623 (RHD/LHD) and all DHC until the end of production in August of 1954. The Jaguar XK120 tandem braking system was an early hydraulic dual circuit setup designed to improve safety by separating the front and rear brakes like in most vehicles post 1968. Prior to its introduction, the Jaguar XK120 relied on a single master cylinder, meaning a leak anywhere in the lines would cause a total failure of all four drum. Even though this system offer a tremendous safety factory is was complicated and was not continued when the Jaguar XK140 was introduced.
