Description
This is a Main Bearing set for a MG TC, TD and TF. These bearings are made by King a leading manufacture in Classic car bearings in the Bi-Metal material. The bi-metal bearing is constructed of only two layers, consisting of a steel backing with an inlay of an aluminum alloy. The advantage of the Bi-Metal Bearing is the surface of the bearing consists of hard and soft material where the soft areas allow embeddability and the hard areas provide strength. Embeddability is the ability to embed (absorb) hard particles or debris within the bearing material. Therefore, to counteract this effect, the bi-metal bearing is machined with micro-grooves to retain the hard particles, these particles eventually being washed away by the lubricating oil. ***Special Note Oversize Bearings will also have Oversized Thrust Surface Please do not have your Crankshaft ground without bearings in hand and 0.0014" to 0.0037 clearance will need to be achieved ****
