With more and more people wanting more horsepower out of your MGA or MGB, it puts a greater strain on engine components. Higher rpm's with uprated oil pump put a huge strain on the oil pump drive gear and can cause a failure if the proper parts are not used. With this bronze gear you get a very hard gear that will not fail like stock steel gear can. We feel we have found the best gear that is made in one piece to insure there will be no failure. Other companies have offered a gear that you have to machine off the old gear and press a new bronze gear on.
