Description
British spec number (license) plate mount for Classic Mini 1959-1970. These mounts are attached to hinges and swing down when the trunk is opened. This feature served two purposes originally; to allow the mount to clear the rear bumper and to allow the license plate to be read if driving with the trunk open. Believe it or not, the Mini was designed to allow luggage and other items to stick out onto the trunk lid to maximize room. Because the number lamp swivels with the plate mount, you can even do this at night! But we don't advise it...not without ratchet straps, anyway.
