Description
This is a uprated set of steering pivot bushings for a Triumph TR3. Triumph TR3 from 1955 to 1962 have a worm and peg steering box. The steering arm on the bottom of the steering box is connected to the center link with one of these “Silentbloc” bushes. The idler arm, opposite the steering box, is also connected to the center link with a Silentbloc bush. The Silentbloc bush consists of an outer steel casing with a threaded steel pin inside. The two components are bonded together with a rubber compound. The rubber has a tendency to wear out quickly which causes the joint to loosen and will lead to free play in your steering. Excess tire wear, steering wheel vibration, and general slop in the steering linkage can all be attributed to worn Silentbloc bushes. There is one bush pressed into each end of the center link, two per car. With the updated Delrin, which is very durable, low wear and a low friction plastic, it makes replacing it very easy, and will be the last set you install in your Triumph TR3. Order a set, and get the solid feeling back into the steering wheel of your Triumph TR3. Cross Reference 667-043
